A native born of Zapata, Texas Ricky Muñoz is a music legend. Lead singer of the group he founded,  Intocable, with friend Rene Martinez when they were still in high school. 

Ricky Muñoz is also a grand humanitarian. Some of his efforts include joining forces with the San Antonio Police Department, KXTN and Univision in support of “Blue Santa,” to collect toys for children during Christmas. He also united with KXTN San Antonio and Laredo to collect school supplies for children in need.  He is a strong supporter of Toys for Tos & make-A-Wish Foundation. His accomplishments include various free concerts for local Texas churches to raise funds for the community. His music has also been a strong symbol of his beliefs. He recorded the song “Mojado” with Ricardo Arjona to focus on the dangers immigrants crossing the border have to face. He was an ambassador in 2008 & 2016 with Voto Latino to encourage citizens with Hispanic heritage to exercise their right to vote. He was also an ambassador of the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital where he donated time, effort and over $1 million dollars for cancer research and the care of children with cancer.

He is also an advocate for human rights and social change. His latest album Highway includes the song Dia 730 to bring awareness of the femicide happening in Juarez.

For over three decades, Intocable has skyrocketed with hit after hit with over 5 million albums sold in the United States and over 80 million views on Youtube. Intocable was named 2010’s “Group of the Decade” by Billboard Magazine. The group was also the first regional Mexican talent to headline the three-day series at the prestigious South by South West (SX Americas).
